Getting Support from Infertility Stories

When you are beset with infertility, sometimes it can really get tough. Not only is it a big financial burden, its emotional consequences can make life really difficult. Sometimes you need support that your friends, family, and even your spouse cant provide. Sometimes, only a person who is going through a similar experience that you are can offer any words of comfort. This is where infertility stories can be helpful. By reading the stories of others who went through infertility, you can get some encouragement and much needed hope. By relating to other people and their stories of how they coped with their situations and triumphed over infertility, you are giving yourself a chance to hope as well.

The internet is a ready source for stories. An almost unlimited amount can already be found by just searching for infertility stories. There is a benefit to going to a devoted site though. These sites usually offer more than just stories. They offer a whole community of people who suffer from infertility. After reading the stories, you can find some of the authors in the forums and some are very open to discuss their journeys and help out others like you who may have questions or just need a listening ear. Try visiting FertilityTies, SharedJourney, or the Fertility Community. A Facebook page, A Community for Infertility, is also available.photo-couples-3

All stories are different. Some are stories of hardships as women who suffer from infertility will struggle through many tests. There are great stories of women who struggle with infertility for years, testing their faith and will to the very limits. Some are examples of the process that you may have to go through like stories of trying for at least a year before going to the doctor. This is normal as a year of failed attempts at pregnancy constitutes the definition of infertility. Some will serve as warnings of the possibilities. Tests are never absolute as exemplified by a woman who was found to be suffering from what appeared to be some minor conditions resulting in infertility. This woman went for treatments, expecting a quick solution to her problems. It would in fact take many years of treatments and thousands of dollars before she had her first child. Some are stories about faith. Women are often brought to the brink of losing their faith when beset with infertility. Some have their faith shaken and tested. But some say to themselves that God would allow what was meant to be. But all these hardships are worth it when the story is resolved in a happy ending. These stories will not always end happily but sometimes they do. And when they do, you can almost feel the joy leaping off the page. That moment when the woman gets pregnant, or when she gives birth, after years of struggle and thousands of dollars and millions of prayers, is priceless. Its stories like these that can help you get a better perspective on your condition and what you may have to go through. Not all stories will end this way, but it does show that even a tough experience can still end well. These lessons and discoveries that other couples learned from their journey will benefit you in different ways although, of course, some may affect you in a deeper way than others.

There is just so much information out there for you to use. You can even try sharing your own experience. You may find it difficult to share at first and just listening and reading may be enough for you. But if you can eventually find the strength to open up, you may find yourself in good company and you and your spouse don’t have to go through infertility on your own.
